Project Info
Metrotown station is one of the busiest SkyTrain stations in Vancouver's automated light rail system. Every day over 50,000 people utilize this critical part of city infrastructure. My work included design, documentation, and consultant management of a project as part of a team that would more than double the size of the current station, drastically increasing its capacity while creating a functional work of art at a civic scale... All without disrupting daily service.

Construction Documents
Sample documents from the construction set. My work was centered on the design and documentation of the east and west station entrances.
Skylight Design
The skylights at each entry provided a considerable challenge, and was the area that was most involved with.

Skylight and truss detailing. My primary design role on the project centered around this area.

The complexity of the skylight system provided a great challenge for documentation.
West entry: under construction
I worked together with structural engineers to design the supports for the roof, as well as the roof truss and skylight system. Amazingly, all this work took place while service continued at the station's original platform.
